To withstand the brisk winds and chilly temperatures typical of the 7,500-foot crater elevation, the main lodge and guest suites are fully winter-proofed. Soft insulated walls, heavy canvas layers, large glass windows, and rich wood paneling retain heat while opening up uninterrupted views of both sunrise over the crater and sunset over the Serengeti.
